BROOKLYN HOME
TIMELESS MATERIALS FOR MODERN FAMILY LIVING
This client’s background collaborating with designers through their work in the garment industry shaped their discerning eye for texture, finish, and craftsmanship. They favored restrained shades of grey and Carrara marble stone as the foundation of the home’s design, which informed how and when bold accents of color disrupted this baseline.
The entryway sets the tone for the home at large. Steel framed panels with mirrored surfaces expand the entrance to produce kaleidoscopic space and light while providing an inviting frame to the home beyond. These panels also serve a more practical function, concealing closets on both walls and a floating ceiling, which camouflages the air return grills.
In the living room, the grey basis of the house is dramatically interrupted through edgy textures and bold color. A mixed-media coffee table interlinks steel and stone in a sleek grasp. Meanwhile, ultramarine accents reverberate throughout the room, radiating from the spectacular marble slab ensconcing the fireplace.
Using an analogous hue, the powder room plays with a sense of fantasy, featuring a similar ultramarine marble countertop and luxe cobalt high-gloss walls.
Upholstered paneled walls and velveteen fabrics adorn the primary suite, with blush accents offering an air of sweetness. Overhead, a splendid dome ceiling with silver leaf detailing transforms the room into a cocoon-like retreat while mirroring classical architectural grandeur.
