LONG ISLAND TOWNHOUSE

AN OASIS FOR PERSONALIZED REFLECTION

Serenity was at the front of this client’s mind as she sought after a calm, contemporary second home. An active businesswoman with a hectic schedule, she settled on this slender townhouse as a peaceful personal retreat. Though it was her first time working with an interior designer, close guidance and a trusting relationship helped bring to life the clean, peaceful atmosphere she had long envisioned.

At the far end of the home, a spectacular Panda White marble fireplace stretches to the ceiling of the twostoried foyer. Its dramatic lines emulate the grandeur and dynamism of a cascading waterfall. The elephant artwork, chosen for its auspicious significance to the client, further enriches the room's nobility. A restrained palette, occasionally interrupted by flickers of bright color, controls and anchors the drama of the space.

The long, narrow plan of the home presented a unique challenge. To create a more harmonious and unified interior, a tea nook was added, providing a natural separation between the stairwell and the living area. Clean, geometrical lines and a thoughtful blend of textures lend a modern flavor to the space around this traditional practice.

The dressing room elevates the daily act of getting ready into a ritual that inspires confidence and clarity. Custom laminated glass, marble, and high-gloss lacquer lend refinement to a space devoted to looking and feeling one’s best.
